I am terrible at being patient, but I have learned that there is nothing that replaces time. When growing new life or building something from scratch or turning proximity into community, there is no substitute for tending to both fertile and fallow ground.
There isn’t a technology in the world that can replace time. In order for new possibility to burst into being, there must be space for germination. I keep learning this lesson. I want things to unfold right now on my timeline, but this beautiful process is teaching me that there is wisdom in surrendering to harvest in its own time. This doesn’t mean sitting idle, but it does mean continuing to show up even when it looks like nothing is growing. It means faithfully tending to new sprouts even when what is poking through, isn’t what you thought you planted.
Silicon Valley Progressive Faith is in a new season and my heart is singing. Like the wagon full of pomegranates, freshly picked from the tree in our yard, the Spirit points to abundance. After a long season of toiling, I am celebrating this time of harvest. The Launch Team has finally been assembled and I get goose bumps each time I look at the list. This group is fun, deep, accomplished, and a holy mix of the kind of people we are hoping to attract. I am really excited to introduce them and now things are rolling!
